90th Anniversary Celebration – Alumni Welcomed Back to School!
On Saturday, October 13, 2018 we celebrated the 90th Anniversary of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs School/Catholic Academy with tours, Mass and a dinner/dance at The West Side Tennis Club. Important Tuition and Transportation Information for 2018-2019
Although we are all excited to enjoy the rest and relaxation that comes with summer vacation, there are a few important things that need to be done to get ready for the next school year.
By now, all families should have received important information from our new tuition company FACTS Management. Please look for the email dated June 1, 2018 which requires that families designate a payment option for the new school year. If, after checking your spam folder, you have not received the email, please contact Mrs. McKoy at 718-263-2622 so that she can insure that the email gets to you. We will no longer be using Smart Tuition so please make sure that any automatic payments are redirected to FACTS. All the perinent information is included in the original email from FACTS.
Secondly, many students, based on their age AND their distance from school may be eligible for either a Metrocard OR Yellow Bus service. If you are interested in applying for either of these programs and your child will be going into Kindergarten to 8th Grade (Yellow Bus is K-6), please click the link below and complete the form. Please know that your acceptance into either of these programs is STRICTLY monitored by the Department of Transportation and the Department of Education. You can find the eligibility requirements for the Yellow Bus by clicking this link: http://www.optnyc.org/ServicesAndEligibility/getransportation.htm . Eligibility requirements for the Metrocard program are listed at the following link: http://www.optnyc.org/ServicesAndEligibility/metrocards.htm . We have no leeway in assinging either Metrocards or Bus Stops, we may only follow the decisions made by the agencies.
Metrocards will be distributed the first week of school and the process of assigning bus stops will take about 2 weeks into September to be finalized. Even if your child has already received a Metrocard or is using the Yellow Bus, please click the link below to apply.

Financial Aid Portal Available
The Financial Aid Application portal has opened. All parents who would like to apply for financial aid please go to the Tuition and Financial Aid tab above. There are instructions for returning students and new students. The deadline for returning students is March 30, 2018 and the deadline for new students is April 30, 2018.
Online OLQMCA Scholastic Bookfair
The OLQMCA Bookfair is in full swing! This year’s theme, Paws for Books, shows many adorable fuzzy friends who love to read. If you are unable to get to the Fair or you forgot to send in your child’s money, click the link below to order any books available at the Fair, and some that are not! All books will be sent to the academy-but act fast! The Fair can only be open online until February 13th!
Diocesan Religion Bee 2017-2018
We are preparing to participate in Diocesan Religion Bee in February. Attached to this post are the study guides for Grades 3-5 and 6-8. Please use these guides when studying for our class and school-wide Religion Bees. Good Luck and God Bless!
Open House & Registration
OLQMCA will host an Open House for prospective families on Saturday, January 27th from 9:30am to 11:00am. Come meet teachers, students, and parents, so we can tell you all about our wonderful school. There will be an opportunity to pre-register at this time.
Registration is set for March 6th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm and March 7th from 8:30-9:30 am.
