Attached please read a letter from the OLQMCA Board Chairperson about the Christmas Tree Lighting and the Continuing Strategic Planning Process.
Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Academy had their first Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 6th. The choir sang carols, the tree was blessed by Bishop Sanchez and Mrs. AnnMarie Foertsch our most veteran teacher flipped the switch. After the lighting we all went to McLaughlin Hall to have hot chocolate and cookies. Families also chose a tag off of the trees in the gym to donate gifts to Catholic Charities this Advent.
We are working towards starting the NYC Free School Lunch Program. Please see the attached information for necessary steps. We are hopeful to have the program up and running by March 2018.
Dear OLQMCA Community,
On behalf of the board of directors, I wish you a happy, healthy and safe Thanksgiving holiday. We all have plenty to be thankful for – our family and friends, our wonderful Academy and its dedicated and caring principal, faculty and staff.
Thanksgiving is a time for family, eating, and football. It is a time for reflection, prayer and appreciation.
Enjoy this Thanksgiving as it is the beginning of the holiday season. For the next month we will have many events to celebrate the excitement and anticipation of the Christmas season. Parents, enjoy the wide eyes, smiles and laughter of your children. Principal, faculty and staff, continue to lead in your very special way. I look forward to being at the campus building each morning and greeting all as they enter their classrooms. It is a good feeling to see all their smiling faces and know that they are learning, comfortable and safe.
God bless everyone on this Thanksgiving holiday.
Mark Scapp- OLQMCA Chairperson of the Board
